Turkey Bacon

Turkey Bacon – Advertised as a bacon substitute for people who don’t want to consume real bacon. Turkey bacon is made of processed turkey meat with smokey flavoring, then formed into strips so to look similar to real bacon.

This product is often advertised as a “healthy alternative” to real bacon, but studies have shown that there’s not much of a difference. Definitely not enough of a difference to try to lie to your taste buds about it.

Do NOT confuse turkey bacon with real bacon. ….It is NOT real bacon. It is just turkey meat processed into a different form. (Aren’t we supposed to avoid processed food?)

This may be a reasonable alternative for people who cannot eat pork for some reason, but let’s come up with a better name for it. To quote HuffPost:

If you know anything about bacon, besides the fact that you want to put it on everything, you’re aware that bacon comes from the fatty belly of the pig. If you don’t have the pig or a fatty belly, can you really have bacon at all?
