Progressive:
1. A term referring to a person or group with modern but moderate Democratic Party ideals. Different from a Liberal due to the lower intensity of their opinions and that Progressives tend to want to make smaller changes or changes that take affect over a longer period of time in order to lessen the impact of said change whereas Liberals tend to want to make major changes which take affect all at once or over a short period of time.
‘Hilary Clinton claimed to be a progressive, but she was also very liberal in her views and in her actions.’
2. A change that has continual movement but takes affect gradually over time.
3. A person whom wants to make continual changes or reforms .
